love affair with stained glass

This piece was done before I became a bit more obsessive about photographing. I had seen this pattern book with mermaids in it, and become fevered with the need to do this piece. Ultimately, I added to the edges of this to make it match another piece, and famed them with a blue-stained wooden frame. But alas, I have no photo of the finished piece, boo.

I love the fluidity of the mermaid’s shape, the languid reach of her hand for the flower. This is an image that I am sure I will make again, with some changes, now that I am comfortable altering patterns.
